7 Billion on the Great Big Ball

This great big ball called earth will reach a new record of 7 billion inhabitants in 2011, and easily two-thirds of the earth’s population does not know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. But with God, there is always hope, and He invites us to join the cause. We must start on our knees. Will you carve out 15-20 minutes this week to intercede for the lost? Great! Let’s do it! Here’s a simple prayer guide to pray using the Word of God.

Prayer Guide

And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.  (Acts 17:26-27 NKJV)

One blood: Pray that you will have an ever-growing compassion for the peoples of the earth, since we are all made in the image of God, sinners through the seed of Adam, and people who are loved by God. (Proverbs 22:2)

Every nation: God’s creativity is displayed in variety; think of the beauty of the thousands of different species of plants and animals. God has also ordained the many people groups of the world, developing the nations as people went forth from the Tower of Babel. Pray that people group will worship the Creator, Holy God. (Psalm 2:8)

All the face of the earth: Pray that you will be willing to go wherever God calls you to reach every nation for Christ. Ask God to send laborers down every dusty road, through each thick jungle, down every winding river, and up every hill and mountain to share the gospel message with the people scattered throughout all the earth. Ask God to help Christians find every household who needs to hear about Jesus Christ. (Acts 1:8)

Appointed times and boundaries: Pray that God will give you several divine appointments. Pray for Christians to seize the divine appointments God gives us with the people we meet in our own communities. (Acts 4:20)

So that they should seek the LORD: Pray that the people of the earth will begin to seek the Lord. Pray for their government leaders, teachers, professors, laborers, parents, and children to seek the Lord. Ask God to help our missionaries to realize new ways to aid people in seeking the Lord. (Isaiah 55:6)

He is not far from each one of us: Praise God for His faithfulness and mercy. Thank Him for being available and accessible at all times to all people. Isn’t that a marvelous thought? Pray that the people of the earth will begin to sense the nearness of God. Ask the Lord to make His presence known among those who are seeking Him, and even those who have never shown interest in Him. (Psalm 75:1)
